Length of Position: five week program, optional internship

Description: This four and a half-week recognized International TEFL Diploma program will give you the right start in an international teaching career, especially if you are interested in working in Asia. Our small groups and professional trainers provide a solid grammar and methodological foundation, lesson planning and classroom management skills. The curriculum includes lots of exposure to a variety of ESL textbooks, classroom activities and games, followed by 16-20 hours of teaching practice with feedback by professionals. The teaching practice includes 10 hours of peer teaching to hone your skills, and 8 hours of observed teaching with real Chinese students. This is a dual certificate program which provides trainees with the opportunity to also learn more about Chinese culture, traditions, education system, and language, as well as difficulties encountered by Chinese students learning English. Candidates who successfully complete the optional 20-hour TEFL-China Certificate elective program will receive the TEFL-China Certificate qualification, in addition to the International TEFL Diploma. There is full job placement worldwide, and a job guarantee option for native English speakers. Work study available. This program is taught by a team of highly qualified trainers with TEFL qualifications, and many years of international EFL teaching and teacher training experience worldwide. The Boland School also provides individual and small group Chinese language instruction with professional Suzhou University TECSL-trained tutors.
