Description:
This GVI teaching program is located in the Krabi Province of Thailand - an area renowned for its stunning natural beauty. Join this expedition and gain a TEFL qualification while volunteering on important educational projects. You will also have the chance to explore the regions gorgeous white-sand beaches, fantastic national parks, abundant wildlife and a rich culture. Alongside your TEFL training, you will be teaching English in the community and gain teaching experience right from the start. You will continuously learn throughout your stay and by the time you've completed 5 weeks you will be TEFL certified and already have classroom experience to put on your resume. * How this program makes a difference Located in the south of Thailand, Ao Luk is in an area that was devastatingly affected by the tsunami tragedy in 2004. GVI's Thailand expedition assists in building local capacity through English language classes and environmental education to help the local communities maximize the benefits of the resurging tourist trade. Attendance of GVIs English lessons by the locals is fully credited towards graduation from one of the areas recognized educational institutes.

Qualifications:
* TEFL/TESOL Certification GVI's TEFL/TESOL program is recognized as both a teacher training ground and a provider of quality English classes to local people. GVI is listed as an Institutional Member of the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) and is a Member of the College of Teachers (CoT). * TEFL Job Placement Service GVI offers a job placement service to help expedition members find paid positions in the TEFL industry once their certification is complete. * College Credit Colleges throughout North America have granted college credit for GVI TEFL programs. Consult the College Credit page in the Resources section of the GVI website for more information. * Internships By participating in a 10 week expedition you will be eligible to apply for a field Internship with GVI.
