Pristine beaches, ancient temples, and lush jungles are just some of the compelling attractions of the country. The capitol Phnom Penh is the political and commercial center of the country, and the city is home to over one million people. Once considered the most beautiful of all cities in French Indo-China, much of the city's charm has survived the turbulent decades the country and its people have experienced since independence. Beautiful (if aging) public buildings and private villas line boulevards, while the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the excellent National Museum, as well as a wide selection of hotels, restaurants, cafés and bars invite tourists. While some areas of the city are booming, many Cambodians still struggle. However, industrial infrastructure and the economy in Cambodia are beginning to truly flourish, and its residents have a strong need and desire to learn English. Thailand The people of Thailand take great pride in their way of life, and the customs and traditions that make their country unique. While most locals' command of English is limited, you'll find them warm and anxious to help. Thais are among the most friendly and outgoing of all peoples; most are curious about foreigners, and that curiosity is tempered by their interest in Western culture and your efforts to live among them and teach their friends and families. (Our Teachers have noted that the intensity with which Thai students throw themselves into learning English is amazing.) Pattaya, Thailand's premier beach resort since the 1960s, anchors the 15 km of golden sand, which stretches along the coast from Naklua Bay to Jomtien Beach - and is the site of our Training Center. Two hours south of Bangkok, Pattaya is warmed year-round by the setting sun over the Gulf of Thailand. Vietnam Vietnam offers an opportunity to see a country of traditional charm and rare beauty rapidly opening up to the outside world. This thriving nation possesses one of the worlds fastest-growing economies, yet it is home to some of Asia's most beautiful scenery. Beautiful beaches dot the coast, while inland mountains are often cloaked in dense forests. Mirroring the country as a whole, the Vietnamese people are hard working and industrious, and at the same time strikingly friendly and optimistic. Still referred to as "Saigon" today, Ho Chi Minh City is the hub of financial activity and is the largest and most developed city in Vietnam. HCM City is the heart and soul of the country: it's a bustling, dynamic and industrious center, the largest city in the country, the economic capitol, and the cultural trendsetter. Yet within the teeming metropolis are the timeless traditions and beauty of an ancient culture.
